Simon... has the WTBTS ever tried to hack this site?
by Alfred ini've only been on this site for 10 months or so and i've already received 2 pms from members of this site (who have no posts)requesting my friendship and providing an email address where i can request a photo of the person... i happen to know that i am "marked", so i wonder if this is just a ploy to match my personal email address to the one the elders in my congo have... this also makes me wonder if the wtbts is behind some theocratic warfare strategy to obtain proof for judicial committees.
i realize this is purely speculative, but i would be interested to know if the wt or any other party has ever tried to hack this site for the purpose of obtaining members' personal email addresses...

Signs From My Brother
by DarioKehl insigns: (really amped up in the last year).
claims to "spend hours on the internet.".
recently became an ms after 3 yrs of reproof.. after a few months, stepped down and relocated.. expresses no interest in becoming ms again, calling me saying "count me in for paintball again.".

well, between him openly expressing doubts about the flood, spending lots of time on the net, and having no intention to return to MS-ing.. i'd say it's pretty clear that he's mentally exiting, it's just not clear exactly how far along yet.
Auxiliar pioneering in April seems like the piece that doesn't fit, but he could be doing it out of pressure from his wife and family, it is quite likely actually. if his goal at the moment is to keep face with the family and the congregation, and he had the circumstances to do it, doing the aux-pio would make sense since with the low 30hrs and increased participation, anyone who can but doesn't would look at least somewhat suspicious.
in the meantime, keep alot of communication with him. I, feeling very comparable to how you describe yourself, can definitely see the benefit of opening up to eachother and being united in your dissent. perhaps laying it all bare on the table is too risky at the moment, but you could drop clues similar to what he is doing - expressing doubt about just one particular teaching (try overlapping generation), in a casual way, and see how he responds. if he appears too shocked, you could always tone it down by saying "oh, i'm just confused by it a bit, i'm trying to understand it better".
by the way, i really like the way you put your points in order in the opening post.

What was your experience of working at an assembly hall build?
by Heartofaboy ini volunteered to help out at an assembly hall build about an hour away from where i live.. i thought it would be an amazing experience & was looking forward to it very much.. when i went to reception i was asked if i had any trade skills, it was just about then i began to realise because i had no 'blue collar' trade skills i would be treated as a lesser person.........maybe even a slight nuisance.. as all the 'brothers' busily carried out their 'manly' tasks it became quite a discouraging experience because i found other 'unskilled' jw's guarded their jobs very closely & said they did not need any help.. if it was a place of christian joy i did not find.. .

i participated in a handful of builds, local and away. also grounds upkeep. in my particular experience i always did find them rather fun and exciting. BY FAR preferred it over field service, and while there was usually some ambiguity over wether we could count the time or not, i always just did count it anyway, figuring that i felt i was sacrificing my time to J-ho and that was good enough for me.

DON'T SPEND TIME WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES.
by Hairyhegoat inthese comments and the references to the old publications are a true find.
have a read of this and you will never become one of the jw's!.

Logical Questions to Make Them Think?
by sweet pea inthis has no doubt been covered before and if anyone has any favourite threads on this subject perhaps they could post them here .
what are your best one liners/questions to make jw's think?.
i had a heated conversation with my mum this weekend and apart from mainly going round in circles (as is often the case with brainwashed cult members) one thing made her stop and i could see that she was having major trouble processing the logic.

"if the GB are just regular people, why should we obey or trust what they publish, and adversely, if they are directed or inspired by God, how could they be wrong so many times?" (alternative ending could be: why do they need to change or update certain teachings so often?)
i used this one yesterday. http://www2.jehovahs-witness.net/members/private/213132/1/conversation-using-simple-question-feels-successful

Surprised reaction
by truthseeker1969 inmy brother who attends meetings was at the hall when they were explaining the "generation" new lite.. he said he was stunned when a rumble went through the congo which he said sounded like "oh here we go again" and then laughing.. the brother sittig next to him said 'what next" and after the meeting a lot of people were mad that instead of leaving what they do not know they re-invented it.. elders were being surrounded by people asking them to explain it.. this happened a few weeks ago but there is also alot of anger at the "mentally diseased " comment made by the gb as people view it as an outright attack on family members.
i think i smell trouble.. he is not one who shuns and told the elders that until they show him where jesus said shun then he will continue to talk to me.. one elder told him that if he persists in talking to me then he could be brought before a committe to which he told him "it would be your funeral".
so me thinks they are truly in a panic!.

Wow! that is quite the congregation your brother is in! i think it does depend on location alot. as it stands now, nonbelievers and doubters in the org, being the minority, have to keep a low profile and have little influence on the overall reaction of the congregation. but when those numbers grow sufficiently to near majority, it will only have a snowball effect. soon i hope.
